God bless you! It’s great to be with you today. Stay connected with us through our daily podcast, YouTube channel, social media, or come visit us in person. We’d love to have you at one of our services.
Let me start with something funny. A man got a new dog but had trouble training him. He met a charismatic evangelist who offered to help. A week later, the owner returned. The evangelist threw a stick, and the dog fetched it. He commanded, “Drop it,” and the dog obeyed. The owner was amazed and wanted to try. He said, “Heal!” The dog lifted his paw, placed it on the man’s forehead, and said, “I command you, sickness, leave!”
Say it like you mean it:
This is my Bible. I am what it says I am. I have what it says I have. I can do what it says I can do. Today, I will be taught the Word of God. I boldly confess: My mind is alert, my heart is receptive. I will never be the same. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Divine Detours
We all face times when things go wrong—unexpected challenges, closed doors, or people walking away. It’s easy to think we’ve missed it or that something’s gone terribly wrong. But often, what feels like a setback is really a divine detour.
God uses the wrongs to move us toward our purpose. The betrayal, rejection, or delay you’re facing isn’t just bad luck—it’s part of God’s plan. If you don’t understand this, you’ll spend your life upset, bitter, and frustrated.
Instead, trust God. He’s saying: “Put down your sword. Quit fighting these wrongs. They’re a part of My plan.”
Lessons from Jesus
When Jesus was about to be arrested, Peter tried to defend Him by cutting off a soldier’s ear. But Jesus told him, “Don’t resist anymore.” It was wrong for Jesus to be falsely accused, mocked, and betrayed. Yet those wrongs led to the ultimate right—salvation for humanity.
The wrongs were necessary to fulfill God’s purpose.
Trouble as Transportation
The Apostle Paul was on a ship headed to Rome when a fierce storm arose. The winds were so strong that the crew couldn’t steer, so they let the storm take them wherever it wanted. The ship eventually wrecked on an island where Paul shared the gospel, healed the sick, and changed lives.
The storm wasn’t a bad break—it was a divine detour. Sometimes, trouble is transportation, moving you to where you’re meant to be.
The Story of Joseph
Joseph had a dream of leadership, but his journey was filled with wrongs. His brothers betrayed him, he was sold into slavery, falsely accused, and imprisoned. Yet every wrong led him closer to his destiny.
If Joseph hadn’t been betrayed or imprisoned, he wouldn’t have been in the position to interpret Pharaoh’s dream and become the prime minister of Egypt.
What seemed like setbacks were actually setups for something greater.
God’s Bigger Plan
Sometimes, what you think is rejection is actually God’s protection. Closed doors, delays, and disappointments often lead to something better than you imagined.
ROMANS CHAP 8 VERSE 28
When I started pastoring, we tried to buy two properties for a new church building. Both deals fell through. I was discouraged, but later, we acquired the Compaq Center, which was far beyond anything we had planned.
The wrongs were necessary for God to lead us to the right.
The Story of Mary
Mary was chosen to give birth to Jesus, but her journey was filled with challenges. She became pregnant before marriage, faced gossip, and had to travel 90 miles to Bethlehem while heavily pregnant.
When they arrived, there was no room at the inn, and she gave birth in a manger. Yet all these wrongs led to the right moment—the birth of the Messiah.
Trusting God in the Wrong
Like Mary, you may not understand why certain things happen, but every wrong is leading you to a right. God has graced you for every challenge. He wouldn’t allow a wrong unless He planned to use it for your good.
Have a new perspective: the detours aren’t random—they’re divine.
Closing Prayer
If you’ve never made Jesus the Lord of your life, I want to give you the opportunity. Pray this simple prayer:
“Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins. Come into my heart. I make You my Lord and Savior.”
If you prayed that prayer, we believe you’ve been born again. Stay connected, get into a good Bible-based church, and keep God first place.
Amen!
